Finaly I got my fancy dinner and coctail!!

This Friday I, Lise, my flat mate Katriñe and Jennifer from France went out to a nice restaurant called Salero and for the first time I ate at an restaurant here in Bilbao. It was really nice; the atmosphere was very modern with smooth music in the background.

Later we went on to an bar that had cocktails and jazz music, a place were you can relax, taste some great mojitos and talk to your friends, very rare in Bilbao, that usually has bares with loud music, crowded with people and bad liquor.

The other day I treated Katriñe on some "Hartbrod" Wasa, eggs and "Kalleskaviar". She really liked the bread, even though it was quite hard for her to eat it with here braces, and the caviar the sad was -"Raro y diferente" Strange and different! But hey it has a quite strange taste. :-)

This weekend I had a lot to study so I didn’t go out any more than what we did on Friday. On Saturday I and Katriñe just rented a move and watched at home. We saw a letter from a unknown woman, a really sad movie from China, and this Sunday I saw On the other side of the bed " Al otro lado de la cama" a Spanish movie or musical, with Paz Vega, it was a really funny one and great with all the dance..

The weather has been really good here about 30 degrees, the otherday I went for a walk in the park by my school and sat down watching the river.

The days together..




Nehat CAME here Friday the 13th and he left Sunday the 22nd and here is what we did with our time together..

We have been eating and drinking good, been spending a lot of time in my apartment ;-) but we have also been to the Guggenheim museum, right now they have an African exhibition as well as their permanent. I had gotten the tickets for free from the women I rent the apartment from, so that was great. We have also been to the beach in Getxho, even swum in the ocean.

We also went up with the funicular to se the great view.

And we went out on Thursday and on Saturday. On Thursday first some drinks at the Connie’s house and then the Erasmus party at a bar. Then on Saturday we were invited to the Birthday party of Joao Paulo (from Brazil) and Eduardo (from here but boyfriend of a Erasmus student from France) We ate and drank in the big apartment of Eduardo with a lot of people, mostly Erasmus.

Now he has gone home, and left me feeling half, the only positive is that now I can focuse more on my studies. You know I miss you so much!!

The Rose came and left

From Tuesday till Friday morning Rose was here visiting me. The first night we took it easy just ate and drank good and talked. On Wednesday I had to go to school so Rose examined the city by her self, going to the museum Guggenheim and the commercial center, shopping and experiencing art. After school I met up with here in the center, we shopped a little more but at this time at "Blanco" a Spanish clothes store that I love. And then took a coffee together. Then we hurried home to by some food because I had invited some friends (both Erasmus and Spanish) to eat at my place and then we were going out together.

After some hassle and stress I manage to cook a dinner for 13 people, with the help of Lise, my flat-mate Katriñe and Rose. We ate pasta, drank and socialized and then we went out. I had a really good time and I think Rose did as well even though she fell asleep at the way home.

On thirsday we were a little tired but manage to wake up and go up with the Funicular up on the mountain to se the geat view over Bilbao, that Rose thought was very beautyful. We also went to the old part of the city, Casco Viejo where we ate Pinxos the really tasty tapas from here and drank the wine Txakoli, a white wine from here, meeting up with some of the Erasmus students.

And the day Rose left my love arrived.. Nehat! But thats a totaly different story.

Tuesday and a Rose is coming..

Today my friend from Holland is coming to visit me. She is going to stay until friday and when Nehat will take her place..

This friday I was invited to a dinner with some other of the Erasmusstudents. It was fun to get to know a little more some of the others and I stayed there until half past one or so.

This Saturday I went to IKEA for the firts time here, they also had a lot of big cheep stores for electronics aswell as shoes and clothes around there, so I bought two pare of shoes and a jacket and a jumper, that I needed. And at IKEA just a few stuff, two glases, a carpet, a pot for my new plant and two frames. When I came home I was so tired because still I wasn´t totaly well, still feeling my cold, so I just stayed home the rest of the evening watching a movie. But it was just to bad I didn´t feel well because SWEDEN had played againsted SPAIN and WON with 2-0!!!! Something to celebrate.. just to bad that I don´t have a television so I could see the game. But I have now talked to my roomate and we are getting a teve soon, so thats great.

This sunday I studied and went to eat pizza with a schoolmate from Zaragoza.

And soon my love will be here, can't wait..

A part, but drawn to each other

Next week my friend Rose or Roos from Holland is coming to visit me! It´s a short visit but I´m going to try to make her stay here entertaining, how I don´t know yet, but I just know we´ll have fun. And at the same day that she leaves Nehat will arrive, Friday the 13th, and he will stay until the 22th of october. I miss him sooo much right now that I don´t know what to do. But luckily he is here soon..

This week I have been sick again, having a cold.. It is so boring being sick, I missed the trip to Gernika that I really wanted to go on. But hey I hope I can go there some other time, my flatmate has family there so maybe I can got there with her someday.
This thuesday we had our weekly dinner, this time at Michaels flat. He and Connie had made a really good pasta with curry and vegetables.

Today Friday I am going to take it easy trying to recover from my cold, maybe go to see a movie or something. But tomorrow I think I will go out with some of the Erasmusstudents..

San Sebastian a beautiful city!

This weekend I and Lise traveled once again to San Sebastian or Donostia that is its name in Basque. First we watched the winner of the film festival in the category Horizontes Latinos. It was a Brazilian movie named the 12 workers and it was really great. Then Lise and I bought some food and beers and went down to the beach to watch the sunset wile eating.

After our picnic, we took of to a bar to watch Atletico Bilbao play against Barca. There we talked to some nice middle-aged women that was going out to dance and was treated beers by an older gentleman. After the game we went to the old parts of San Sebastian were most of the bares and discothèques are and to meet up with the friends of Lise. There we partied thru the night, and then slept in the house of a girlfriend to a friend to Lise.

The day after we "Fuimos de pinxos" went to different bares and ate pinxos/tapas. We had met a girl from Germany on the way to the centre so she went to.

After eating we went to the wonderful beach and had a swim amongst the big waves that was really strong. It was exiting to play along the waves but also a little scary for me, "la gallina" the chicken, but you could also swim out little further to avoid the waves and just relax in the water.

Yea.. and I forgot we also eat some really nice ice-cream in the sun before going to the beach. I had one with yogurt and strawberries.. soo nice

After the beach the German girl went to find a place to stay and the two friends of Lise went of on their own. And me and Lise took a coffee at a café and the wandered around the city. We found a amusing store with a lot of things, a lot from Ecuador, and Lise bought a pair of earrings made of wood and a bag typical from here. And I bought a dream-catcher to have over my bed, as a souvenir, good, luck and for decoration. :-)

And then we went home. But I definitely recommend the city, it is beautiful and has a lot of bares, to eat pinxos or to party. But it is really popular and especially in the summer there are a lot of people there, sometimes maybe to many..

This Friday before going to San Sebastian. We went to the party of the neighborhood, Urribarri, where Lise lives. There were concerts and bares on the streets. It was really an experience, but I was tired after class and was taking it easy because we were leaving for San Sebastian in the morning, so I took the last metro home at 2.
