Christmas in my winterland, but where's the winter?

Me and Nehat

Nehat and I celebrated X-mas at my parents house in the small village of Virsbo. Every other year we celebrate with all my brothers and their families but this year it was only us and my brother Mattias. As you know I’ve been praying for it o snow at least at x-mas eve, but it didn’t come any snow.. What is the world coming to? Soon we can go to the beach on x-mas day or what? Anyway, fortunatly Virsbo, located in the middle of Sweden, had a tiny snow at the ground from the days before.

We celebrated with good food, wine and a bit vodka and watching movies and playing games.

Now we´re back in Gothenburg and tomorow at new years eve we´re going to Falkenberg, a village an hour from here, to celebrate new years with his family.

Happy New Year to All!!!

After a long week of studying and working with the damn essay and presentations I finally got to do something fun.

This Thursday there were the Erasmus dinner in Erandio, a bit up the mountain here in Bilbao, in a the bar of Club Erandio, we had dinner and beer. It was me Lise and many of the Erasmus students. Afterwards we took the party to Bilbao centre and the discothèque Congreso were we danced the hole night long.. Or at least until 4 a clock, when I took the taxi home together with Mael and Katrin who live near me.

On Friday after working with Iván and Mari Paz on our essay in Marketing in the function of personnel, I had gathered together some friends and bought some Swedish food typical for Christmas and sat down having a x-mas dinner. Afterwards some of us went on to a Discothèque in Indauxu “Caos”, that I really liked because it’s a bit posh and more international in comparison to the other bares and discothèques here. They even delighted with some free canapés.

Sunday I spent doing the last on our essay, but you know even though you never feel finish with a paper you have to let it go at some time. Tomorrow we have the presentation of the paper and on Wednesday I have the final exam in Marketing of services that I still haven’t got to time to study to. Then On the early morning of Thursday I will take of to my winter wonder land.. still hoping it will start to snow when I get there.. When I arrive Nehat and I will go to Liseberg to breath in the Christmas spirit after leaving for my parents at Friday afternoon.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous happy new year if I don’t talk to you before.. Hugs and Kisses

Celebrating Santa Lucia? Sankt Nicolas?
No, Saint Nehat!

The 13th, the day to celebrate the Saint Lucia, have past. In Sweden we celebrate by dressing up in white, lighting some candels and singing in choir.. Here in Spain or Bilbao, the 13th was just a day like any other. My friend Johanna in Gothenburg had her birthday, (easy to remember just because of her likeness to the typical Swedish Lucia with long blond hair) so I send here some wishes bys sms, hoping she got them.

But now the 14th for me is a even bigger day, it is the birthday of my honey!! And not any birthday but his 30th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!!! Hope your day is special even though I cant be there to spend it with you..

(After talking to Nehat he says he's realy happy about the nice birthdaycard and present he got from my parents.. Thank you so much!!)

Longing for my winterland
Long time have past.. well two week or so.. and yes I’m still very occupied with studies but it’s really hard to concentrate because I'm longing so much for Christmas and my friends and family.

Here are some pictures of the Thursday two weeks ago when I and Katrie went to the international short film festival, ZINEBI, here in Bilbao at the beautyful theater Arriaga and afterwards I went out with the class from two of my subjects.

Then last Saturday I and Katriñe went to the price awards of the film festival and saw the winners.. One of them being a Swedish on!!

This week that past I’ve almost only been studying and preparing presentations and working with essays.

This Saturday though I took the day of and went to IKEA, and a big mall to shop some x-mas presents and some x-mas food because I’m planning to treat my friends on a typical Swedish dinnerparty this Saturday!!

I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
Please may it be snow when I arrive because Sweden is “Mitt vita vinterland” (My white land of winter)
