A nice time and some wine

T his week started with that I went to the movies with my Spanish friend Paula from my class, we saw El laberinto del Fauno, the labyrinth of the faun or something like that. It is a Spanish movie and was about the franquist and the red in Spain during the civil war, and simultaneously about a girls daydreams to deal with the hard life of reality. It was very well made and it was really good.
T his Thursday my parent arrived! The first night we went out on a nice and typical restaurant from here and ate the Menú de Degustación, with 7 diches, really tasty.

O n Friday we went up on the mountain and saw the great view of Bilbao, the fourth time for me J but every time is special because of the different weather and time. But this time it was very windy, that we almost couldn’t stand there. After a cup of coffee, a apple cake and tortilla we took the bus to go down instead of the funicular, that way we could se a little more of the city, going of at Casco Viejo, the old part of the city. There we walked around for a wile doing a little shopping. At the evening I invited my parents to my flat. After showing my apartment and trying some 24 years old wine (a bit too old) and some pâté there, we went out to eat dinner. Having some typical food from here, I tried the Bacalao al pil pil, but it is different for us to eat fish without any rice or anything so I it wasn’t my favourite..

O n Saturday we took the bus to Santander, a city by the coast in the nearby province, Cantabria. We strolled by its port and beaches and beautiful housing, arriving at a restaurant with a view of one of the beaches. There we had some seafood and white wine a watched some sailboats competing. After returning to Bilbao and been resting for a wile at their comfortable hotel we went out to have some Pinxos and drinks at the old part. When they got tired a took a trip with some friends to try out a discothèque for the rest of the evening.

T his Sunday it rained a bit, so my parents went to the Guggenheim museum, wile I rested from the night before. Then we met up and hanged out at their hotel before going out to eat at a Tapas and Paella place.

I´ve had a lovely time, and I my parent are very welcome back!!
