Cider from barrels and drumming chefs..
Finally I’m breaking the silence of two weeks or so. After coming back to Bilbao I have been so busy studying for my exams. But after two weeks of hard work, nearly only studying, I have a break almost a vacation, with only one exam left and two week to study for it.

L ast weekend I took a little break from my studies to go to see flamenco at the theater Arriaga. It was incredible, they danced and sang transmitting a story, I loved it and now I definitely have to start learning flamenco. After the show we and some of the Eramsus students that were there with me went on to Casco Viejo for Pinxos and some beers, but then I went home to sleep, to continue with the studies the day after.

After doing my second last exam this Thursday, on Friday I went to San Sebastian again, but this time to visit my Swedish friend Linnea, which I know from my time working in Norway. She lives and works there, so I got to spend the night in her and her boyfriend David’s apartment in the center of the city. We and some of their friends went a little outside of the town to a Cidrería, a place where you make the cider from here were you drink directly from the barrels, trying not to spill any on the ground, (but if you did it, it didn’t madder that much). There we were eating standing up, tasty: tortilla a bacalao, bacalao (cod), steak and desert (the typical goat cheese). It was really an experience!

After that we went back to the center going to some of the pubs. And because it was the DAY of San Sebastian there were a lot of people out, and the different men’s clubs had dressed out to military drummers or cooks that drummed and played in an orchestra marching around the city, playing all night and day, 24 hours starting at Friday midnight, having children also dressed up and playing taking their place. So after partying it was a little hard sleeping, do to you woke up every time they went by my window.

After at least some hours of sleep, Linnea and I went strolling around the city in the sun. It incredibly how good the weather has been this winter here, when I have come back it has only been sunny and 20 degrees. But now it looks like it is starting to change, today Monday I’m back in Bilbao came back this Saturday and went to the movies yesterday seeing Babel with my roommate, really liked the movie, anyhow today it is only 8 degrees and it is showering down rain. But I guess the winter is coming now, I heard that in Sweden they now have snow, just to bad it came almost a month too late..

Love to you all and thank you Linnea for the lovley weekend!!
